it snowed about an inch last night.
i must admit
i like all the days leading up to christmas
better than christmas itself
so the next 26 days should be bliss.

i'm starting to prefer the colder months. less sweating.
men don't gawk as much.
hot cider. hot cocoa.
blankets.
i get to wear shoes, not flip flops.
i kind of hate flip flops.

the smell of fallen leaves and the sounds they make when i crunch them under my boots.
cinnamon. pumpkin.
catalogs. lots of catalogs.

there are times
i think i'm doing
things on principle,
but mostly
i just do what feels
good.


but that's a
principle, too.
